I have always been a crafty person. When I was younger I knitted, crocheted, cross-stitched, did macrame, and sewed. When my children were very small, I knitted all their sweaters, or at least ones they could wear in Miami.
I started cooking when I was first married and loved to be in the kitchen. Julia Child was very popular at that time and I was inspired. I got so good that I opened a kitchen store and cooking school with my good friend and future business partner, Carole Kotkin.
We were very successful for many years, and received an offer that we couldn't refuse (in the good sense) - so we sold it. Then it was on to different interests.
I worked in the travel industry, then the catering business, and then finally retired. After all the travel and museums I had visited, I woke up one day and thought "I think I can paint". Mentioning this to my daughter Lisa, I soon received all the oil painting supplies I could use as a beginner.
So, I embarked on painting in oils, then to be followed by watercolors and now involved in designing jewelry.Below are some of my watercolors.
My whole life has been one wonderful project after another. I still do watercolor, oil painting, and beading. Life is good.
